APRIL 9, 2011
SPECIAL EVENT: MN Made Artist Mart
Location: Walker Art Center, 1750 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis MN 55403
Time: 11 am–5 pm
Debut of new work: It's not what it is that gives it meaning, but what it means that gives it being.
- About the work: Part letterpress print, part interactive spectacle, this artwork is completed by the everyday act of commerce. The sales transaction is a prompt for the artist and art patron to negotiate abstract notions such as worth and ownership. Original prints beginning at $1.
Debut of new work: Recipe Facsimiles
- About the work: Recipe cards evoke memories of home, comfort, and family lore. For this project, a selection of authentic recipe cards are reproduced using letterpress, with care to capture the handwritten word, the spatter-stained surfaces, and a nostalgic reverence for the original artifact.
